 * Is there a filter or option to have it only show published posts so I can exclude
   private/password protected posts?

 * Thanks for reaching out! That’s a good point, those posts should not be displayed
   in the widget by default.
 * I’ve just published a new version of the plugin where private and password-protected
   posts are hidden.
 * Note that you may not see the changes appear right away on your site if you update
   today. Since the data is cached for a day, you may only see the fix appear in
   your widget tomorrow.
