 * My hosting company has the cgi-bin above the html folder….i.e. in the root of
   the site.
 * So if I wanted to execute a script in that folder, what would be the path, when
   I add custom html to a page?
 * “../cgi-bin/myscript.pl” doesn’t work.

 * Login to your host and open the file manager, or use FTP to see the full path.

   You could also SSH over to the server using a terminal if they allow ssh access.
   You could also try a tilde character: ~/ the tilde indicates home directory.
   This is not a WordPress question.

 * And in a way it IS a wordpress question……since when you add custom html to a
   page, you need to know what the file paths are. Apparently a file in custom html
   is based on the web root/html folder….good to know.

 * The render for an html page is resolved by from apache, not WordPress.
