 * Hi there,
 * I have not tried the plugin yet, but was wondering how existing users are handled.
 * Can existing with wordpress registered users add/remove the option to use a certain
   social login?
    Is all their existing data within wordpress retained or will it
   be overwritten by the connected account data? Thanks, Sascha

 * Hi Sascha,

 * As Social Login icons are visible to users not logged in, it is not possible
   to detect if user is not already registered and display social login only for
   these users.
 * Plugin checks if email associated with the user’s social account is already registered.
   If it is, it simply logs that user to the account already existing, without overwriting
   profile data.

 * Yes, thanks. Get it now.
    So just an edge case scenario, but not that far fetched:
 * User is registered on my site as a wordpress user with email: [1@abc.com](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/existing-wordpress-users/1@abc.com?output_format=md)
 * Now he is registered at facebook with [2@abc.com](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/existing-wordpress-users/2@abc.com?output_format=md).
   He hit’s social login is registered and logged in and then realises that it’s
   the wrong account, as all his posts etc are not there. he logs out, logs in as
   wordpress and changes the account email to [2@abc.com](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/existing-wordpress-users/2@abc.com?output_format=md)(
   same as associated with his FB account). Will those two accounts merge? Which
   will take precendence? Or will he get an error message saying that that email
   is already taken???
 * I for instance have a different email address for FB & linkedin, but I would
   like to log in with either FB or linkedin into my same wordpress account. Is
   that somehow possible?
 * Or is there a manual way that he can associate a facebook account with his wordpress
   account, once he is logged in as a wordpress user, no matter what email that
   facebook account is registered with?
 * Codepen.io has that functionality (under account in profile) to associate a github
   account with codepen for instance.
 * Anyway, I do hope you know what I mean!

 * After changing the WordPress account email to that of Facebook account, plugin
   will login user to their WordPress account, without creating a different account
   and without overwriting the existing profile data.

 * Yes, you can link your Social accounts to your WordPress account from profile
   page. After this you would be able to login to your WordPress account from the
   linked Social accounts regardless of emails associated with these.
