 * Very disappointed in the latest updates to Post Expirator, one of the single
   most useful plugins for my site (art-earth.org.uk). The latest version requires
   me to type in the categories I want to replace or delete. This pretty much makes
   the plug-in non-functional for me. Shame.
 * I’ve downgraded for now but hope you will revert this back to it’s old style
   where we could pick which categories we want to change rather than having to
   type them in.

 * Hi [@richardpovall](https://wordpress.org/support/users/richardpovall/)
 * Can you explain why this is a problem for you?
 * Almost all the requests we had were for a more modern searchbox for categories.
   The old dropdown just didn’t work for busy sites with lots of categories.
 * The old Classic Editor is still available in the Settings.

 * Hi thanks for responding. It’s a problem for me because it means I have to remember,
   precisely, the categories I want to expire to and that feels not only infeasible
   but a backward step. The dropdown was much easier.
 * But I hadn’t realised that there was an option to switch back to the Classic
   Editor (in truth I’m not sure I even realised there was a setting page!). Now
   that I know I can go back to the ‘old’ editor I’m happy with this FANTASTIC plugin.
 * I just hope the ‘Classic’ editor doesn’t disappear in some future update.
 * Thanks again.

 * Thanks [@richardpovall](https://wordpress.org/support/users/richardpovall/)
 * It’s unlikely the new Gutenberg integration will go back to a dropdown. Remember
   that if you start typing a couple of characters, it will auto-complete.
 * We won’t drop the Classic Editor support.
 * Thanks for your support of the plugin. If you have a second, please leave a positive
   review to keep the plugin growing: [https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/post-expirator/reviews/](https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/post-expirator/reviews/)
