 * Hi Nate
 * earlier in the year i had a problem with custom fields in that it was always
   showing the last custom field on my form as having been ‘checked’ in the client
   booking. You gave me a snippet or a mini plug in or whatever that fixed the problem
   for the booking output of the emails and the backend booking manager.
 * i guess it must still be in there as now i come to export the season’s bookings
   by csv the last custom field is showing as ‘checked’ on all bookings.
 * also on export re formatting …
 * **dates** – cool, got my head around that – for benefit of anybody else reading
   this who wants to change the export date to a format excel can work with, goto
   bookings / settings /export tab and change the excel csv format box to d/m/y
   H:i for a straightforward and easy dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm excel sort-able and graph-
   able output (or for the U.S. way, i.e. the wrong way, m/d/y)
 * **special characters** – the € is exporting as € and the apostrophe ‘ as '
   which i am assuming is something to do with character sets – how can i resolve
   this?
 * **telephone numbers** – are coming in as numbers, not text, so dropping their
   leading zeros. as our business is international, and the uk treats zeros in a
   weird way already. this makes an already confusing situation more so. minimally
   need to be able to export numbers retaining their leading zero(s), but one for
   the wish list would certainly be one of the auto populated country code fields.
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fexport-csv-formatting-and-custom-fields-problems%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * Hi [@gibbsyns3](https://wordpress.org/support/users/gibbsyns3/),
 * Make sure that you’ve got the latest versions of Restaurant Reservations (v1.7.6),
   Custom Fields (v1.2.5) and Export Bookings (v1.1). I believe this issue was resolved
   and you should no longer need the micro-plugin, so you can try disabling that
   to see if it fixes the issue when exporting.
 * > special characters
 * The dropped characters could be happening in two places. It could be happening
   when you import/open the CSV file in your spreadsheet application (Excel, LibreCalc,
   Google Docs). If so, you may need to look at the character settings for the application
   to figure out how to import it properly.
 * If the dropped characters are getting dropped in the CSV file itself (you can
   open it in a text editor and look at the raw text), then you may have a character
   encoding issue on your server. Your web host should be able to help you resolve
   that by ensuring the correct character encoding is in place.
 * > telephone numbers
 * The numbers won’t be getting dropped in the CSV export. However, when importing/
   opening the CSV file in your spreadsheet application, you may need to direct
   it how to interpret the columns. In some applications, the zeros may just be
   hidden, and changing the format of the column will make them re-appear. In others,
   you may need to specify how you want it to interpret a column’s values during
   the import process.

 * i have all 3 of the plug ins on latest version.
 * there isn’t a micro plug in dealing with this, so it must have been another approach
   you used. the only 2 micro plug ins i have are admin overrides.

 * Do you remember what the snippet was?
 * v1.2.4 of Custom Fields included a fix for an issue that sounds like what you
   describe, where the last option in checkboxes was being displayed as checked
   in email templates.
 * If you want to reach out to me via the contact form on my site, we can communicate
   by email, where you can send me some screenshots or files privately so I can
   look into this.
