# Export error Version 3.0

 * Trying to export the site to xml file I get this message.
    Server error The website
   encountered an error while retrieving [http://mywebsite.com/PPM/wp-admin/export.php?mm_start=all&mm_end=all&author=all&taxonomy%5Bcategory%5D=0&post_type=all&status=all&submit=Download+Export+File&download=true](http://mywebsite.com/PPM/wp-admin/export.php?mm_start=all&mm_end=all&author=all&taxonomy%5Bcategory%5D=0&post_type=all&status=all&submit=Download+Export+File&download=true).
   It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.
 * I’ve tried different browsers. Please help.

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.

 * I tried deactivating and it still wouldn’t export. Upon reactivating it asked
   for my Askimet API key which I don’t seem to have a record of. I haven’t tried
   renaming the plugins folder yet.
