    Hello,

Unfortunately, my file is very large after export (about 650 MB). It is possible to exclude individual arrivals and / or graphics or other files. My upload limit is limited to 152 MB, so unfortunately the export does not work. Or is there another way. Is it possible to put the file on the server otherwise, so that an upload is superfluous?

    Thank you in advance.

Thank you. I had already seen the article. My hoster allows for the server settings a maximum of 152 MB for the upload. I do not want to buy an extra plugin for a homepage. Is it possible to save the file online for importing, or does it make no sense? Is it possible to exclude individual images or categories during export?

If the hosting limits you to 152MB – you could upgrade to another plan that permits larger files.
Excluding certain parts of the site is done using advanced settings in the plugin – however, if you exclude something, you need to make sure to transfer it some other way or your transfer will likely be broken.

Allright, thx. But there is no option to import the file directly from the server?

You can import directly from the server by using a paid extension.

    Hello,

Would like to clarify, my website backup is 660mb. If i buy this extension i will be able to upload it no problem? https://import.wp-migration.com/

    Thanks!

With GoDaddy shared hosting uploads are limited to 128Mb, I think by the FcgidMaxRequestLen directive which it’s not possible to override via .htaccess.

The import fails silently (upload is stuck at 0.01%) though an error appears in the console log: Error: error import.min.js:1395:10.

It is possible to exclude the uploads directory (“Do not export media library”) from the export, and manually copy it, but that’s an onerous step. Otherwise it is only possible to import very small sites.

Previous versions of the plugin used some kind of chunked uploading so did not suffer this limitation. (The plugin description still says “Bypass all upload size restriction” but this is no longer true.) Why was this feature removed?

    Any answer from the developers?

A while ago I was considering giving your plugin a 5* review, as it has proved very useful. But probably not now…
