 * Love the concept. Tried it out this morning and it didn’t export the YouTube
   embed code? Is this by design? If so is there a hack, or a work around you might
   suggest?
 * Thanks in advance,
 * Dan

 * The plugin is basically the core WP export with a couple extra selection features.
   The generated export file is the same as the core export generates.
 * Perhaps you could explain a bit more about the Youtube embed code. As long as
   it’s on a line by itself you can paste a youtube video link into any post and
   the oembed function in WP retrieves the youtube embed code.

 * Hi Ron,
 * Thanks for the reply.
    All I can tell you is that I ran the export process and
   when I imported it the embed code for youtube videos wasn’t there. I ran the
   same export process with the standard exporter and they were. This is my experience.

 * I know what you mean by a youtube embed code. What I don’t know is where it’s
   being added/attached to your post.
 * Is the embed code in the post content? in a custom field?
 * Do you have a plugin you are using with the embed codes?

 * Hi Ron,
 * Thanks for the reply. It’s just embed code in the post. No fancy, dancy plug
   in that is in use. Just posted the embed code from YouTube directly into the
   post.

 * Thanks for the explanation. The plugin is almost 4 years old and this is the
   first report I’ve had of content being stripped out of a post. I’ll keep this
   thread in mind if someone else reports a similar issue.

 * Ron,
 * The idea behind the plug in is great. It fills a functional gap that really should
   be addressed in an official WP release and why it hasn’t is a mystery to me.
   Anyway, I was super excited when I found it and what I will do is test it in
   the confines of an other domain and try to replicate the issue. Who knows what
   the cause might be but I’ll try and triangulate on the issue and report back.
   I would like to use it exclusively for all exporting requirements.

 * Actually, the plugin was added to WP core during the 3.0 release cycle ( [http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/10317](http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/10317))
   The core implementation has had some mods since then.
