# ExpressionEngine Hype?

 * Ok, so I just saw this “pitch” for EE in lockergnome, and although it doesn’t
   honestly look like it’s got that much stuff that’s really innovative, the delivery
   is amazing.
    What I mean is, this website puts those of most other blogging tools
   to shame, and despites the fact that most of their features are pretty-much standard
   in blogging software nowadays, they make the product sound so great, I actually
   began to believe it would write my site _for_ me… 😉 I figured I’d post it here

 * I got an email about it as I used to be a pM Pro user. When I saw the price, 
   it took me a moment to stop choking and then I went on my merry way. I would 
   stop blogging altogether before I paid that kind of money! They do say it is 
   not meant for someone that has just a weblog but still… $200?!?!?! **gasp… choke…

 * I aggree with Alex: $200 is not too much, especially in comparison with other
   commercial CMS with same features!
    And, believe it or not, included are an **
   offline-manual** and an interface made for the average user, completed with a
   working context-help (remember: EE is in beta-stage).

 * For what it looks like it does, 200 is reasonable. What it ISN’T is a blogging
   tool per-se. It looks like it’s a step in blogging evolution, taking things to
   a higher level, and yes, it isn’t aimed at the home blogger. It’s designed to
   be used in an enterprise situation.

 * It seems that all the CMS packages out there really drop the ball on web standards.
   EE touts compliance in the admin area but nothing about the finished page, plus
   it uses tables for layout. I see big things for wordpress and any CMS program
   spawned from it. Thanks guys for making a great program that adheres to web standards.

 * EE it 100% xhtml strict compliant both in the control panel and in all of the
   default templates.
