 * Are the following modules required for PHP8.1 and latest WordPress? What functionality
   do they add:
 * – DOM
    – zip: I think WordPress has it’s own backup ZIP libraries for the odd
   update. I am not sure why I should be loading it into PHP for every script when
   WordPress has an alternative

 * WordPress does not have any backup zip libraries built in. There are plugins 
   that provide this functionality though. My favorite is [Updraft Plus](http://UpdraftPlus WordPress Backup Pluginhttps://wordpress.org › plugins › updraftplus).

 * OK I will enable ZIP then. Is DOM necessary? especially if PHP’s extension XML
   is on?
