# Extra fields

 * Don’t know when, nor did I notice the change, but it appears the default setting
   on add new page/posts does not show all fields…. and they do not stick if the
   fields are checked in the screen options box. I thought it was a plug in issue
   but I disabled all plugins and the fields still “disappeared”

 * Have you tried:
 * – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or PhpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.
 * – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a **fresh** download
   of WordPress?
 * – increasing the memory available to PHP?
