Is there a way to eliminate the background color (or transparent) in your widget so it is just sitting on top of my color?

Hi, no you can’t change it, Facebook only provides a Light or Dark color scheme:

https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/like-box-for-pages/

Since the Like box is inside an iframe, you can’t target it with CSS either.
