 * Been having trouble with Site Kit plugin displaying the “Failed to initialize
   NumberFormat” error:

 * Plugin is up-to-date, as is WP. Any thoughts?

 * Many thanks for getting in touch. We’re currently investigating this issue, which
   so far we’ve had similar reports from Safari browser users.
 * So we can investigate this more it would be great it you could share the following
   information:
    1. Your [Site Health information](https://i.imgur.com/Rtkmsba.png). You can use
       [this form](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1lhjns2K7c0Ny7ME4gxTcsnYtNUtcMr8BvFpPQi23Y1E/)
       to share privately if preferred.
    2. Does this occur when you login to your site and check your browser from a Chrome
       browser?
    3. At what stage does this occur (ie. Consistently when you click on the primary
       Site Kit primary dashboard)?
 * Let me know if you have any questions on the above.

 * Hi James,
 * Thanks for the follow-up.
    1. I’ve submitted the form for the Site Health information.
    2. No, it works in both Chrome and Firefox on MacOS
    3. It happens for virtually all options for Site Kit: Dashboard, Search Console,
       and Analytics. Not for Adsense (not enabled) or Settings.
 * Let me know if there’s any other information I can provide to assist with troubleshooting.
 * Thanks!

 * Thanks for providing the additional details. As this may be occurring as a result
   of another plugin using the Google Charts Library please inform me of the same
   occurs when following the steps below:
    1. Login to your site from a Chrome browser [incognito window](https://i.imgur.com/ALzgiHp.png)
    2. Install and activate the [Health Check & Troubleshooting](https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/)
       plugin.
    3. Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
    4. From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and
       then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”
    5. Attempt to view the same dashboards once more
 * If the same doesn’t occur then in order to point a conflict you can enable your
   other active plugins once by one while remaining in troubleshooting mode.
 * You can [exit troubleshooting](https://i.imgur.com/Z4b1bk0.jpg) mode afterwards.

 * Thanks, James. I’ll give that a shot. But I’m wondering if it has anything to
   do with the bug in Safari 14.1 I just read about ([https://appleinsider.com/articles/21/05/04/macos-bugs-causing-sporadic-browsing-issues-with-safari-firefox-others/](https://appleinsider.com/articles/21/05/04/macos-bugs-causing-sporadic-browsing-issues-with-safari-firefox-others/))?
 * It’s mostly an issue with newer versions of MacOS, but apparently is still trouble
   for MacOS Mojave that I’m running.

 * Interesting! I’ll add this to the GitHub issue for the team to review, while
   I also set some time aside myself this week to test.
 * I’ll keep you updated with any insights I can find. In the meantime if you do
   have time yourself please follow the suggested steps previous mentioned – excluding
   the first step “_Login to your site from a Chrome browser incognito window_“.
   I seem to have missed your reference that it doesn’t occur with other browsers.

 * Hi again, James.
 * Just used the Health Check & Troublshooting plugin (awesome tool, good to know
   about), and with JUST the Google Site Kit plugin enabled, the problem still exists
   when viewing in Safari 14.1
 * So… I’m guessing this is actually a result of that MacOS/Safari 14.1 bug and
   isn’t an issue with the Site Kit plugin (or conflict with any other plugin or
   theme).
 * Hope Apple releases a fix soon! 🤞

 * Many thanks for the update, good to know. While I don’t have any additional troubleshooting
   steps to suggest in order to avoid this I will performing some additional testing
   and keep you updated with any findings. This issue may be as you referenced on
   the Safari side although we will investigate further.

 * [@thervgeeks](https://wordpress.org/support/users/thervgeeks/) While we’re still
   investigating this issue can you share whether the same issuer persists when
   selecting another language active while still using Safari 14.1?

 * Hi James. Just changed my system language (System Preferences / Language & Region)
   from “US” to “United Kingdom”. Rebooted the computer and checked the Site Kit
   page in Safari. Same issue, no change.
 * Do you think it’s a problem with ALL English language selections? Or is there
   somewhere else I should be changing the language selection (didn’t see one in
   Safari/Preferences).

 * Many thanks for checking this. I don’t think it’s an issue with English languages
   although we were considering the possibility of some language based conflicts.
   We will however continue to investigate as much as we can on our side.
 * I’ll also keep you updated here with any additional findings.

 * Just to keep you informed we’re still investigating this issue. While doing so
   it would be great if you could share the following as we’ve been unsuccessful
   in consistently recreating this so far:
    1. Do you have any additional Safari browser extensions installed?
    2. Do you have any Safari experimental features enabled?
 * Let me know if you have any questions on the above.

 * Hi [@jamesosborne](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jamesosborne/),
 * Thanks so much for the continued follow-up. I do have a couple of extensions
   installed & active: 1Password, Grammarly for Safari, and Honey. There’s a fourth
   extension installed, but not active, for Parallels Desktop (it’s an “Open In
   I.E.” option that I don’t use).
 * I tried de-activating all three active extensions and testing… same issue.
 * I also checked my “Experimental Features” list… and couldn’t tell if I’d changed
   anything there, so I used the “Reset All To Defaults” option and tested again.
   Same issue. Get the errors when trying to view Site Kit data in the Main WP Dashboard
   or in Site Kit’s Dashboard.
 * Let me know if there’s anything more specific I can try.
 * Thanks!

 * Many thanks for sharing this information, greatly appreciated. We’ve ben unsuccessful
   so far in recreating the same experience.
 * If you happen to have a Safari browser installed on another Mac which you may
   have, or another device it would be great to know if the same occurs when logging
   into Site Kit from on of those devices.
 * And one other test that may be useful is to know whether the same occurs with
   only the Search Console module active. You can temporarily disconnect the other
   connected modules within Site Kit via “_Site Kit > Settings > Connected Serviced
   > Edit_“. If this does occur with only the Search Console module active.
 * Thank you!

 * Hi James. Tested on my other laptop (also MacOS Mojave v10.14.6 with Safari v14.1(
   14611.1.21.161.7)) and it has the exact same problem.
 * It works fine in Safari on iOS.
 * I tried disabling all Site Kit features other than Search Console and had the
   exact same error:
 *     ```
       Failed to initialize NumberFormat since used feature is not supported in the linked ICU version

           in DataBlock
           in WPDashboardImpressions
           in WithWidgetComponentProps(WPDashboardImpressions)
           in div
           in WPDashboardWidgets
           in div
           in WPDashboardApp
           in RestoreSnapshots
           in ErrorHandler
           in Root
       ```
 * 🤨
   to test from our side and I’ll let you know here of any updates. Thanks again!
