# Failed Transfer

 * Hello,
    I tried to transfer and old wp site from one host to a different host.
   The site had not been used in over a year, so before the transfer, I made sure
   I did all the updates of wp and plugins first. I did not build the original site,
   so little knowledge of the workings of this particular site.
 * Now, with the new install, nothing is working. Please check it out and offer 
   direction if you have any.

 * Hello Michael,
 * 1st you need to take a whole backup including files and DB from old server and
   then upload it new server. After upload into new server. You need to edit wp-
   config.php with new host DB information and at your DB you need to change site
   url and home from wp_option.
 * After all this setup you can run the update of wordpress and other plugins.
 * Let us know if you have still problem with wordpress setup

 * Thanks for the direction but I believe I have done all the steps above, except
   wp_option. Where and how do I do perform this step? I would need to do this through
   ftp, since I can’t login to wp currently.
