# Failed upgrade – missing admin.php?

* Hello all:
* I tried using the auto upgrade without success, so I manually upgraded. My site
is functional, but when I try to go to my admin page I get:

* t-p, thank you for your response. Now having read through that master list and
the previous master lists, I see where I did not do everything in the order that
I should have, but I am not closer to resolving my problem. I likely tried to
upgrade more than two versions. Does this mean that I need to do a fresh install?
Or is there some other way to resolve this. Thanks again.

* Not being able to resolve my problem, I reinstalled wp 3.0.4. Now I can access
my admin page, but I get a white blank screen when I go to my site url. I have
temporarily put up an index.html page so others will see that I am upgrading
my blog. I have deactivated all plug ins. My normal theme is thesis. I have activated
twenty eleven 1.4 instead. I still get the white screen when I remove index.html.
I’m using FileZilla to access via ftp. I’ve been reading various threads on the
forum, but still don’t really understand the problem. I remember getting a white
screen perhaps when I first installed wp a couple of years ago, but I don’t remember
how I resolved it. Any assistance would be appreciated.

* The database schema has changed between versions, so you can’t just downgrade
like that.
* Do you have a backup of your 3.0.4 database you can restore as well?

* I just restored my 3.0.4 database via phpmyadmin to no avail. Still have a white
screen, but I still have access to my wp-admin.

* Check your server error logs. You might have to ask your hosts how to access
them.

* Look at the PHP Fatal error entries. The server can’t find those files it needs.
* It looks like your folder structure isn’t correct. Did you move any of the files
around from the WordPress zip file?
