# Falling back

 * Hi,
    If I click “sync” in Loco Translate, all translations are deleted. Can you
   help me ? Some words do not appear. Therefore I click on syn. However, all of
   them are deleted and gives the following warning: Falling back to source extraction
   because Theme.pot is missing.

    So, this happens because the theme owner did not create a
   file. Is it correct ?

 * Or they created one with the wrong name so it couldn’t be identified. I can’t
   tell you which is the case, because you have not posted the theme.
 * **This** happens when Loco Translate cannot extract strings from their source
   code. If there was a POT file, that would be a non-issue.
