Fatal error: allowed memory size exhausted

    I get the following error when trying to upload photos that are supposed to be automatically watermarked:

    Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted

    Is the plugin properly optimized? I had to remove Jetpack to fix the issue. At rest only 80MB out of 256MB of memory is taken up by WordPress.
