# Fatal error: Can’t use function return value…

 * Hi,
 * I have tried installing this plug-in on two different WordPress sites, installed
   on different servers.
 * After installing the plug-in, when I ask it to activate, I just get this message:
 * Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home/sites/
   nameofsite/public_html/wp-content/plugins/better-search/includes/modules/exclusions.
   php on line 42
 * Any ideas what might cause this? (using WordPress 4.9.8)
 * Thank you.
