# Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context

 * Hi.
 * I’d love to use wpTables, but when I try to activate the plugin I get the following
   error:
 * **Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /var/sites/
   d/datahamster.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wptables/admin/class-wptables-
   admin.php on line 46**
 * I wonder if it might be PHP version related? My server is running PHP Version
   5.4.42
