 * I’ve just moved a working installing from a test directory into the root directory.
   I’ve had to update a few links and posts, but everything is fine now apart from
   I can’t install or delete any plugins.
 * When I try I get an error message along the lines of…
 * `Fatal error: Class 'WP_Filesystem_direct' not found in <path>`
 * I can only assume that something is still pointing to the old installation directory
   rather than the new directory, but I’ve no idea what file would need updating?
 * Any help gratefully received.
 * Many thanks.

 * It was using those procedures that I used to move the directory. Still the plugins
   install or delete is the only part that is not working. I can only add or remove
   plugins using FTP rather than the automatics but it’s not the best solution.

 * Just had the same issue when moving an old site (v 2.8.2). It turn out to the
   a file that hadn’t transferred correctly.
 * wp-admin/includes/class-wp-filesystem-direct.php
 * It was empty. Re-uploading the full file from the original download solved the
   error. You can get past versions here BTW:
