• Hi guys,

Wordpress has auto-updated to version 4.6.1 and now I get this error message when I go to the dashboard (I am running the Salient theme – All up to date as far as I know):

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 196608 bytes) in /home5/dermalsk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/lib/W3/UI/PluginView.php on line 380

And when I go and click ‘Pages —> All Pages’ as I want to edit, I get this fatal error message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 454 bytes) in /home5/dermalsk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/inc/functions/other.php on line 30

Any help in resolving this would be fantastic!

    Thanks,
    David

  • Hi David.,

I hope this issue comes from your cache plugiN. just rename the cache plugin folder via FTP after check your link

Since you cannot login, use FTP , or your web-host’s cPanel or whatever file management application your host provides (no Dashboard access required) and try deleting/renaming the folder of the “/w3-total-cache” plugin.

Hi Rajan and t-p. Thanks for your thoughts.

I renamed the directory and reinstalled Salient and got to the page menu (ie I can see all website pages) but when I click edit I just get an empty white box where the drag & drop options for the page are supposed to live. There is this error at the top of the page:

W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home5/dermalsk/public_html/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home5/dermalsk/public_html/wp-content/db.php.W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home5/dermalsk/public_html/wp-content/object-cache.php.

Also, I noticed that some of my plugins are now due an update. I tried to update and get the same error message.

I should also edit that with that folder under it’s origional name, I get exactly the same error – I can see the pages to edit, but get a blank edit box.

Thanks for your ongoing help 🙂

    Hi again guys.

Sorry I have been dark over the weekend – Family time.

I have reinstalled Salient and WordPress using FTP and now:

    – I do not get a fatal error message BUT…..
    – When I click Pages —> All Pages I get a complete list (So far so good). However, when I click ‘Edit’ for the page I want to edit, the entire right hand frame goes white instead.

ok that happened first time. I tried to edit a different page and got this error after the whole page went white:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1024 bytes) in /home5/dermalsk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/js_composer_salient/include/classes/shortcodes/vc-tta-accordion.php on line 421

This is very weird to me. I would have thought a complete ‘reinstall’ for all intents and purposes would have fixed things???
