Fatal Error – Plugin

I’m new to WordPress and trying to figure it out. I updated to a new version (it was either 3.6 or 3.6.1) of WP and now I get this error message and cannot log in.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare has_shortcode() (previously declared in /nfs/c06/h04/mnt/155907/domains/juliadv.com/html/wp-includes/shortcodes.php:153) in /nfs/c06/h04/mnt/155907/domains/juliadv.com/html/wp-content/plugins/mybooks-for-authors/ot-functions.php on line 49

Apparently the MyBooks plugin is incompatible. Do I just remove the plugin on my FTP server under wp-content>plugins? Or is there something else I need to do.
