Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function wp_unregister_GLOBAL

Hello, I hope someone can help me with the following issue. I don’t know what it means or how I can solve this problem. I struggled with updating/rebuilding the website, so my hosting provider advised me to use FileZilla and remove the wordpress files within the domain. However, before I did that, I had a lot of other ‘issues’ and couldn’t see the website anymore anyway. Does someone maybe know how I can solve this issue or what this ‘fatal error’ means?
