 * I used to use Modern Events Calendar and after that plugin was pulled by the
   creator, I switched to Modern Events Calendar Lite. It was working for a bit
   and I tried to updated the plugin and delete Modern Events Calendar and all of
   a sudden it started saying there is a fatal error. It says “Uncaught Erro: Class‘
   MEC_single_widget’ not found in /our server where domain is hosted:php:100 Stack
   trace: #0 /server.php(115)… And it goes on like this for a bit. I’ve tried deleting
   both and then reuploading Modern Events Calendar Lite through FTP. I’ve tried
   installing through the plugins page in wordpress. And everytime time it pulls
   up the error.
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Ffatal-error-when-installing-plugin-7%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)
   to see the link]_

 * Same here. Auto-update wasn’t allowed, and it kept throwing a fatal error when
   manually updated. Uninstalled/reinstalled – no luck. I had to revert to loading
   a backup to save the events and am transitioning to The Events Calendar plugin
   instead.

 * Hello,
    Please update plugin to latest version. This issue fixed.

 * I appreciate the support response, but 6 days later is a bit late. I’ve already
   moved onto The Events Calendar plugin after losing my event and config data from
   this error.
 * Issues happen and can be fixed. This level of service/lack of communication is
   a choice.

 * Hello [@adhdork](https://wordpress.org/support/users/adhdork/),
    When we found
   out about the issue, immediately released an update for this because we value
   our users and customers. We hope you will be one of MEC users in future.

 * I see what you’re talking about. The version that caused this (v3.2.0) was released
   10/1, and this post originated 10/2. Fixes were released 10/2 and 10/3. The version
   we were using couldn’t be automatically updated, so I’m assuming we were using
   v3.1.6.
 * The issues happened when the update had to be manually installed. Unfortunately,
   when documentation couldn’t be found, we had to chalk it up to being ignored.
   We restored the site from a backup, but ultimately decided to migrate to The
   Events Calendar plugin over concerns there wouldn’t be support or automatic updates
   for our version going forward.
 * I respect your diligence in providing the fix, but 6 days to provide feedback
   is bonkers and created unnecessary pains on our side.
 * I’ll still lean towards using MEC by default for other clients who need event
   features (I prefer MEC’s layouts and function), but this particular client made
   the call out of a concerns for the longevity of functionality and the ease of
   future site maintenance.

 * Hi [@adhdork](https://wordpress.org/support/users/adhdork/),
 * As you know we provide [PRO version](https://webnus.net/pricing/) of MEC and
   with pro version, we have premium support in then.
    So we suggest to you use
   to pro version for benefit premium support on our support desk.
 * However, about not a received auto updates, you should keep correct URL on wp-
   content/plugins directory (**modern-events-calendar-lite** for the free version
   and if you have the pro version correct plugin folder is: **modern-events-calendar**),
   If you observe this, you will receive the auto update, please try it.
 * we’ll be adding a new article about an auto update on MEC documentation.
 * Best Regards

 * I wasn’t looking for PRO support – I was looking for support for an event plugin
   that had a fatal error. If the free version doesn’t work, how would I be able
   to sell the plugin to clients? If I don’t have faith in your support of the MEC
   Lite plugin, how do I have faith in your support for any of your plugins? It’s
   been almost 2 weeks, and MEC support _still_ doesn’t have documentation covering
   the issue.
 * Nothing changed in usage or installation. The MEC plugin screwed up, and with
   no response or documentation for an issue that MEC support knew about, it cost
   me and my client quite a bit of time to configure a replacement with the event
   data.
 * To recap: There was a fatal error with the MEC plugin. There was a post in this
   support forum outlining the issue and requesting assistance. The post was ignored
   by MEC support for a week before MEC support replied. MEC support replied another
   week later telling me to upgrade for better support.
 * You surely see how ridiculous your response is.

 * Hello again,
    We are sorry to see such issue has happened. We have always tried
   to provide the plugin without any issues or bugs and users issues are fixed with
   the new update. We hope that there will be no such an issue in future.
