 * Long story short – wordpress site was showing old php version, even though I
   had upgraded to latest via GoDaddy cPanel – this had been keeping me from updating
   Shield plugin.
 * Removed htaccess file, allowed it to rebuild, was able to update your plugin
   to the latest version. When I activated it however, got a fatal error:
 * ValueError thrown
    touch(): Argument #2 ($mtime) cannot be null when argument#
   3 ($atime) is an integer
 * Now the entire site is down – can you help??
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Ffatal-error-when-plugin-activated-3%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)
   to see the link]_

 * This is a known issue we’ve discovered in the last few days for PHP 8.0 + WordPress
   5.8.
 * They made what appears to be a “minor” code change in WP 5.8, but it’s significant
   for PHP 8.0.
 * We’ll have a new release this week which will address that.
