I tried to rule out the conflict with all plugins and theme (changing theme for twenty seventeen and deactivating all plugins but GamiPress: it did not help – the site was running very slowly in any operation I tried to do). So far the update seems to have worked and my website is functioning properly again. * This plugin is difficult to use but so powerful even when set up only for the basics.
