Hi @lohsu2020 , is the current issue that you’re facing the inability to access your website from the wp-login.php page?
Do you have FTP access so you can fix this?
If you can at least log in, I would say find a file manager plugin, like https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/wp-file-manager/, within WordPress so that you can manually delete the plugin folder, if you don’t need revslider anymore.
Hi Ian,
So i was able to login now i can’t anymore and it looks like it is the Avada plugin giving me errors…
Fatal error: Cannot use “self” when no class scope is active in /homepages/35/d584537625/htdocs/clickandbuilds/Wordpress/wp-content/themes/Avada/framework/plugins/importer/importer.php on line 878
Is there another way to trigger an email link to resend a link to recovery code again? i accidentally exited recovery code…
Also, I wasn’t able to change the theme without the site coming up with a lot of errors due to existing customized code within the theme i believe… It is Avada theme. However, when I went to wordpress I couldn’t find an update to the theme, and didn’t mention any bugs when I did a scan with phpCompatility. do you by any chance know how to update an avada child theme?
Hi @lohsu2020 , here’s some instructions about recovery mode for WordPress:
https://www.goidp.com/accessing-wordpress-recovery-mode-without-the-email-link/
Anyways, maybe this will help you after you access WordPress again:
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/36563851/what-is-solution-to-fatal-error-cannot-use-self-when-no-class-scope-is-activeI would suggest adding a plugin like https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/aceide/ to make some coding changes within WordPress to fix the PHP code issue.
Hi Ian,
i don’t know if i can do ftp to mysite. don’t know if i have it installed?
Hi @lohsu2020 , FTP is something that your web hosting should provide within the admin.
For example, my web hosting company is Hostinger, so I had to learn where I could access the FTP settings through this:
https://www.hostinger.com/tutorials/ftp/filezilla-ftp-configuration
Your web hosting company should provide similar instructions.
Hi Ian,
I was able to get to my hosting service and figure out the ftp. And after that I was able to do the fixes necessary to bring the site up again. Thank you,
LoriHi, @lohsu2020 , no problem, glad to help!
