 * I just tried to upgrade to 3,3, and forgot to backup my files. Stupid and I deserve
   this crash now, I know, but it happened and I really want to know if there’s
   any way in wich I don’t lose 2 years worth of blogging?
 * I got this error message Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp() in /home/
   luipaardne/domains/glamourtogo.be/public_html/wp-blog-header.php on line 14
 * on my blog [http://glamourtogo.be](http://glamourtogo.be) . I also don’t have
   access to my dashboard anymore. Also, I’m not a big techie (hence the forgetting
   to back up) so please be gentle!
 * Thanks in advance for helping me!
    Valerie

 * Im having the same problem, but fortunately I backed-up. Check with your hosting
   service.. They should have a backup on file for you. I also am receiving this
   message in the admin section.
 * Call to undefined function get_option() in /home/***/public_html/wp-admin/admin.
   php on line 32

 * Also, is there any way that I can still save my written content?

 * I tried re-installing the wp-admin wp-blog-header and wp-includes with no luck

 * Make sure you’ve read the entire [Master List post](http://wordpress.org/support/topic/troubleshooting-wordpress-33-master-list)
   and the [New Features in 3.3 Post](http://wordpress.org/news/2011/12/sonny/).
 * Go to your own install’s about page – [http://domain.com/wp-admin/about.php](http://domain.com/wp-admin/about.php)–
   to see what’s new.
 * And then make sure you’ve tried…
 * – flushing any caching plugins you might be running, as well as server and/or
   browser caches.
 * – deactivating **all plugins** (yes, all) to see if this resolves the problem.
   If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic
   plugin(s). If you can’t get into your admin dashboard, try [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems. Also remember to deactivate any plugins in the [mu-plugins](http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network#WordPress_Plugins)
   folder. The easiest way is to rename that folder to `mu-plugins-old`
 * – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
   If you can’t log in to change themes, you can remove the theme folders via FTP
   so the only one is `twentyeleven`. That will force your site to use it.
 * – manually upgrading. When all else fails, download a fresh copy of the latest.
   zip file of 3.3 (top right on this page) to your computer, and use that to copy
   up. You may need to delete the wp-admin and wp-includes folders on your server.
   Read the [Manual Update](http://codex.wordpress.org/Updating_WordPress#Manual_Update)
   directions first!

 * I had the same issue. My solution was to make more space available on my server
   to allow for the upgrade to complete. Here is the sequence of events:
 * 1) Automatic update from WP dashboard caused error and completely blocked my
   access to the site:
    “Call to undefined function wp() in /home/DOMAIN/public_html/
   wp-blog-header.php on line 14” Tried a few solutions like removing plugins that
   did not work.
 * 2) Tried to update from Fantastico in cPanel and that failed, but noticed my
   available space had all but disappeared.
 * 3) Deleted several unused files from my server (also increased quota since I
   have access to that).
 * 4) Upgrade through Fantastico in cPanel worked like a charm!
 * Hope this is useful to those who setup WP through Fantastico. Will try to remember
   to keep an eye on available space! Less invasive that having to do all the manual
   upgrade steps. Good Luck!
