# Fatel error while upgrading

 * So I am trying to upgrade from 1.2 to 1.5.2 and when I open my upgrade.php page
   I get the following fatal error..
 * Fatal error: Cannot redeclare timer_start() (previously declared in /home/unblur/
   public_html/wordpress/wp-settings.php:43) in /home/unblur/public_html/wordpress/
   wp-includes/functions.php on line 472
 * anyone else get this error and know how to fix, help please!

 * Did you follow all of the proper v1.2.x – v1.5.x upgrade instructions, such as
   replacing all files, deactivating all plugins, and properly converting templates
   to themes?

 * I did all that but it appears that my folders weren’t deleted and that was the
   problem 🙁 Thanks for the help
