# Feature request: export functionality similar to WordPress posts

 * WordPress posts and pages can be exported using several different options:
    1. Category
    2. Author
    3. Start + End Date
    4. Status
 * It would be helpful to have the same export functionality in Docspress.
 * I’m sure people have different use cases, but for us it comes down to posting
   a document on one site and needing an identical document on another (as well 
   as from staging/dev environments). Exporting all of the documents and editing
   the XML works, of course, but with WordPress’ functionality it makes it much 
   quicker. Especially since documents are constantly being added/edited.

 * These filters are hardcoded in the WordPress code and I don’t see any possibility
   to easily tell the Exporter that our custom post types need to have the filters.
 * I think you have to use 3rd-party plugins to export post types.
