    Hi RavanH,

This is a small non-urgent suggestion to improve the plugin. I think xml-sitemap-feed would benefit from having its own page within WordPress for making configurations.

Right now, you configure xml-sitemap-feed by going to Settings > Reading. But there are so many configurations to make (when Google News is checked) that xml-sitemap-feed seems somewhat of a bad neighbor by adding so many things to a default WordPress settings page.

What other plugins do when they have a large amount of configurations, is create a separate page underneath Settings, for example Settings > XML Sitemap Feed. This makes it clear that the settings apply to the plugin, and it keeps the WordPress Reading page neater.

I hope that helps! Again, non-urgent and just in the interest of making the plugin better.

  • Hi Michael, yes I aggree with you and this is in the todo list 🙂 In the beginning there where not so many options but since then the plugin has evolved and a news sitemap has been added, adding even more options. It has indeed become too much for the default Reading settings page. You can be sure there will be a dedicated settings page in a future release soon. Not the next one because it is about to be released but right after that 🙂

Yes, I figured it was a case of initially very few settings, with more settings being added over time. I’m glad to know you have this on the todo list. Thanks!
