Featured posts not showing in grid

Hello,
I just re-wrote a couple of posts and tagged them as featured and they are still not appearing in the featured grid. Any ideas why? These have been working fine until I edited a post that I did a while ago and updated it. I changed the date on it to today but that didn’t seem to help either. Also, is there a way to get all of my most recent posts to appear on the homepage by date after they have been knocked off the featured grid and in general? I had to mark this previous post as sticky for it to appear on the homepage as well.
