Hi after tinkering around I found that it said ‘none’ under entry title and I deleted that, and the post titles came back. Thanks!!

Hi Steven, I’ve a second challenge at this moment.
I’ve created a child theme from the original Kale theme and using the child theme, I’m unable to remove Featured Posts though it is toggled as Hide under Customise. Would the previous parent theme be overlapping? How do I go about this?

—edit: I went back and reactivate the parent theme, hide the featured post and activate the child theme again. worked!!

I’m actually wondering if there’s a way to reset my parent theme to default – rather than have my child theme clash with the few changes I’ve made in my parent theme before making a child. I’ve gone back to the parent theme and deleted whatever edits I made eg css and removing widgets etc.
Currently, in the child theme, I’m attempting to use a feature Image as banner but it wouldn’t appear. I have not done this in the parent theme as well so it couldn’t be a clash.
Any thoughts?
It sounds like there may be an issue with theme mods in the child theme. How did you create the child theme? Would you mind posting the contents of your child theme’s functions.php?

I can’t seem to find out how to open a new post so I hope it’s okay I use this thread – it’s related to Featured Posts but now the image size is not consistent. I’ve installed plugins recommended such as Regenerate Thumbnail and Simple Image Size. I believe the images uploaded are large enough (700×600 or higher) but there is just the odd post that appears shorter. (website: https://mymotherlee.com/)

Taking down and re-uploading the image a few times seem to did the trick but wondering what could’ve cause this…

Typically, 700×600 wouldn’t be quite large enough for the images to be cropped correctly, so this may be related to the issue. But if you’re using the Simple Image Sizes plugin, it would depend on the images sizes that you’ve configured. Here’s a little more info on the image sizes recommended in Kale by default:
