Feed help please

    I would like to add more RSS Aggregator functions but struggle to get the basic install to collect valid feeds. I have got some working on my site so everything seems fine at my end but I can not get http://en.chessbase.com/feed to work despite validating it.

    Any suggestions would be welcomed,

    A feed that does not validate but is correct – http://www.theweekinchess.com/twic-rss-feed, this one is correct but if I force the feed the aggregator will not retrieve items. Any ideas please?

    Hi @mjb566,

    We have tried both the Feed URLs you mentioned about and we can get both works on our end.

    Here’s the result for http://en.chessbase.com/feed

    and here’s the result for http://www.theweekinchess.com/twic-rss-feed

    feed items

    Have you tried following the steps outlined on our Feed Items not importing page? If not, please have a go through them and let us know the results.

    Thanks Eric,
    I have run through that checklist, cURL is enabled but still those two feeds are not fetched, I get the following error in the RSS Debugger screen. What puzzles me is that the feed from https://chess24.com/en/read/news.rss is received normally as is another one. Any ideas why one valid feed is received whilst another is not? I imagine there is something wrong at my end but I can not find as yet.

    Failed to fetch feed “http://theweekinchess.com/twic-rss-feed”. A feed could not be found at http://theweekinchess.com/twic-rss-feed. A feed with an invalid mime type may fall victim to this error, or SimplePie was unable to auto-discover it.. Use force_feed() if you are certain this URL is a real feed.

    Hi @mjb566,

    You can try using both Feed URLs on our demo sites.

    If you can get it work there, then there could be a problem with your host/server.

    We suggest asking your hosting provider to check your server setup and if it already fulfilled all the requirement.

    If they’re sure everything is already set, you can ask for a debugging log or such as to why the feeds are not importing.

    Thank you for your tremendous help, I can get all bar one of my feeds running on your test server so the problem does seem to be at my end. I have disabled all plugins to no effect so will now contact my host with the information. I am very grateful for your help.
