technically, this can be done but I’m assuming this is for the feed to post…what would have to happen is the feed name could be set as a user (but to do that a password would be needed or generated)…right now, that’s not a feature of the plugin….if you want to try it, though, let me know and I’ll give you a file to replace that should make this happen.

It works. Thanks. But the 50 word excerpt disappeared. It’s likely that all feed to post excerpts would not work.

hmm…that’s odd, since the excerpts and the code that is used to create the user are totally separate…there is nothing in the code that I can see that would prohibit the excerpt from showing…I’ll need to look into that.

ok…here is a movie of my experience – notice the excerpt comes in fine and the user is created as expected

are you sure your settings are correct for the excerpt in the admin?
I just tested it again with a different feed
It works perfectly
Perhaps the intial feed I used is restricting access
Any other thoughts?

nothing else comes to mind…are you sure the initial feed had content in it for excerpts…what is the feed you think was giving you the excerpts?

ok…the problem with that feed is that they put the very few words of content in the description tag – not the content tag where it is supposed to be. This is why you are not seeing any excerpts…you can see what simplepie (that reads the feed) see here:
