Feedback – hesitant to try this plugin

    Leaving this feedback here. I’m very hesitant to to try your plugin. Your 5 star reviews are clearly fake. No one writes like that except your marketing people or people paid to review the plugin. Also, your 3 star review (probably a real person) indicates that using it seems to require us signing up to your website (or rather your response indicates that there’s a way around it, but it’s not straight forward). In theory I am not opposed to this, but because I see your reviews are fake, I don’t trust how my information will be used.

    Your plugin could be great, and maybe it’s just your marketing strategy that has you adopting some smarmy practices. But if you want feedback from a potential user perspective, here it is.

    Thank you for your honest and direct feedback. We really appreciate it.

    First of all, there is absolutely no need to register an account with MyThemeShop to use this plugin. Linking your account to the Rank Math plugin is completely optional and is only needed if you need to use the SEO Analysis option in the plugin that makes use of our API.

    Why do we ask you to link the account even for a single feature?

    Because SEO Analysis uses our API and we need a way to prevent users from abusing our API. Linking their account enables us to simply disable the SEO analysis API for users who are abusing it (not necessarily via Rank Math plugin but using the code we provide inside Rank Math).

    With that said, there is no way a plugin on ww.wp.xz.cn can even put in code that lets the plugin owners manipulate your website, leave backdoors or use your data without your permission. Doing this would result in instant removal from the WP repository. You can verify this fact independently.

    Now, coming to the reviews.

    Please note that the WordPress team has a zero-tolerance policy towards fake or manipulated reviews. They have special blockades for this and have people working dedicatedly just to prevent this – as fake reviews don’t provide a level playing field to everyone.

    Why would we even want to have fake reviews on this free plugin? Wouldn’t we instead put the marketing efforts on a premium plugin (there is no premium version of Rank Math)?

    We don’t do any marketing on this plugin apart from making it available for free. There are so many features in the plugin that it markets itself. And you assuming the reviews are fake tells us that even you don’t believe a plugin could be so good that so many people have only good things to say about it. But, trust us – this plugin IS THAT good. Give it a try on a local install and see how it goes. If it doesn’t work out, there are so many other SEO plugins you could try and never think twice about giving us another try.
