file* issues

Hi, Im having an issue with the required (*) field for file upload. Initial issue was that all my file* fields remained as non-required in the form, so the sender could send through the form without attaching anything. I saw on another topic a similar issue and was recommended to roll back to an older version of CF7. I did this but now it makes every other field befor the file* field as a non-required field, which makes things worse actually. So I had to leave the it as file only (with out the *) so that the form can work. Maybe I need to rollback the conditional fields plugin?

Current versions:
CF7: 5.3.2
Conditional fields: 2.0.3
