 * I am new to WordPress, but have used Filezilla for several years. When I open
Filezilla I can’t find the folders I have created to upload media.
    I created
the media folders in WP and uploaded a few dozen files through the website, but
would prefer to upload using FileZilla to save time. What am I looking for? Where
   is the media folder?

 * In WordPress the media files are located under `/wp-content/uploads/` in the
   various folders there.
 * BUT… You can’t just upload files there and have WordPress recognise them. All
of the media info is stored in the database, and that’s where it comes from,
not the file system. Uploading anything to those folders won’t include it in
   your site.
 * The good news is that there are some plugins that can manage that for you. I
can’t recommend any personally, but I have seen some discussions of the same
thing on here, so I’d suggest that you do a search in the [plugins repository](https://wordpress.org/plugins/)
and see what you can find.

 * ‘Add From Server’ is a plugin I use that can properly register any previously-
FTP/SFTP-uploaded media file. Just be certain to use “Current Time” and not “
File Time” or whatever it says there.

 * I added the “Add From Server” plugin
I have several media files already created
in WP, but I don’t see a way to upload my new files to those specific folders.
All of the files I need to upload are pdf, but I have close to 100

 * I do that with FileZilla, then use ‘Add From Server’ to register them in the
database. ‘Add From Server’ does not do the initial uploading, but it will move/
copy (not sure which) the files into /uploads/ if they are not already there.
Also, I do not know how it will act if “Organize my uploads into month- and year-
based folders” is set at Dashboard > Settings > Media. So overall, you might
want to do just a bit of testing before asking ‘Add From Server’ to register
   the complete batch.
