 * Hello, I’m helping with a jewelry store that has different categories and subcategories.
   We recently ran into an issue: when editing the store page, we added a product
   filter. Everything seemed to work fine on the main shop page, but when testing
   it on a category archive layout, the filter shows all store products instead
   of just those from the selected category.
 * It looks like this problem has happened before, but we’re not sure how to fix
   it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 * Thank you!

 * Hello, thanks for the help. I really appreciate it. We were testing the filter
   in the store and two issues occurred. The first issue occurred when filtering
   by product size. We sell different ring sizes in our store. The issue occurred
   when selecting size 1 and size 2 in the filter. When trying to deselect size
   2, the size that was deselected was the previous size, which in this case was
   size 1. The second issue occurred in another different category, also with the
   size filter. What happened was that when selecting any size, such as 1, 2, 3,
   4, or 5, all products from another category appeared in the filter results. I
   don’t know if it’s because the attribute being filtered is the same as the one
   from the other category? and it is not filtering the specific attribute of that
   category that we tested. It’s worth noting that the variations are the same as
   in other categories.
 * Could you please guide us on how to resolve this issue?
   Thank you.

 * Hi [@johana1223](https://wordpress.org/support/users/johana1223/)
 * Thank you for sharing the details. We understand your concern. The filter is
   designed to search for products based on the selected attribute across the entire
   store, rather than limiting the search to the current category only. This is
   intentional to ensure that if a category doesn’t have products with the selected
   attribute, the customer can still see available products from other categories
   that match the filter.
 * However, we understand that in some cases, you may want the filter to apply only
   within the current category. Please let us know if you’d like us to adjust the
   filter behavior to limit results to the category being viewed.
 * Thank you.

 * Hello, it would be a great help if you could help us ensure the filter only returns
   results in the current category.

 * Hello, thank you for confirming.
    We will discuss this with our development team,
   taking into consideration our existing users who currently rely on the filter’s
   default behavior. If it possible to add this feature then we will do our best
   to include this feature in the next release.

 * Hello, I just wanted to know the status of our query and also see if you can
   help us please with the bug of selecting and deselecting the ring size since
   we couldn´t clear that aspect.
 * Thanks for the support

 * Hi,
 * At the moment, implementing this is quite challenging because our existing users
   prefer to see all categories and attributes. This allows them to explore products
   from other categories or attributes as well. If we limit the filters to only
   show attributes and products relevant to the current category, filters that don’t
   match any products would return no results — which could lead to customer confusion.
 * That said, we’ll definitely give this more thought to see if we can come up with
   a better solution. However, we’re currently unable to commit to a specific timeline
   for this.
 * Also, we’re not entirely clear about the issue with the ring size. Could you
   please clarify exactly what you mean regarding the selection and deselection
   of the ring size?
 * Thanks

 * Hello, thank you for your prompt response we understand that you can’t commit
   to a specific timeframe, so please, we would like your advice so we can change
   the filtering of products to only give results from the current category even
   with some code placed by us — or you could help us a lot by making the archive
   title change dynamically depending on the filter results. This is because the
   archive title doesn’t match with the filtering results. We hope you can help
   us, as this is the last step we need to launch the website.
 * Kind regards

 * Hi [@johana1223](https://wordpress.org/support/users/johana1223/)
 * Thank you for your message and for sharing the details.
 * We generally discourage directly modifying our plugin files, as any custom code
   added there would be removed automatically during future updates. Instead, we
   recommend implementing this functionality by modifying the main query through
   your child theme.
 * You can refer to this helpful discussion for guidance:

 * Please note: Modifying the main query requires a solid understanding of WordPress
   query structures. If you’re not comfortable handling this yourself, feel free
   to reach out to our support team. They’ll be happy to assist you further:

 * Hello, thanks for your help we appreciate it. Also we would like to know how
   could we hide the shop page from google search results and only show the archive
   pages. For example at searching on google: [http://www.ourwebsite.com/shop](http://www.ourwebsite.com/shop)
   appears all the products of the store and we don´t want that. What we want is
   only to show the archive pages. For example: [http://www.ourwebsite.com/rings](http://www.ourwebsite.com/rings)(
   rings = an archive page category) and do not show the results of [http://www.ourwebsite.com/shop](http://www.ourwebsite.com/shop).
   If it is possible this, would it have any complication linked with woocommerce,
   elementor or your plugin?

 * Hi [@johana1223](https://wordpress.org/support/users/johana1223/)
 * Regarding your question, the development aspect and Google search indexing are
   separate processes. Hiding the shop page from Google search results should not
   cause any issues with WooCommerce, Elementor, or our plugin. You simply need
   to ensure that only your desired pages (like your archive/category pages) are
   set up to be indexed, and the shop page is excluded.
 * As long as your important pages are properly structured and accessible on your
   site, you should have no problems with your ranking or functionality
