# Find css for Coursepress plugin

 * Hi Bojan,
    1. First of all I want to remove the sidebar from the page – **Courses**,
   and from the **page** which opens when I click on the details of the course.
   I have removed all widgets form the sidebar but the empty space on the right
   side still exists.
 * 2. When I am logged in as a student or admin, and I am on the page – **My Courses**,
   there is a vertical grey line all along the page on the left side and there is
   no margin or padding between that line and the text. I want to give margin and
   padding to the text and images or simply remove that grey line. I tried finding
   the class or id for the images and the divs but with zero result.
    I tried all
   the codes which you gave before, on another thread for removing the sidebar.
   But with no effect. I am using Divi theme from Elegant Themes. I could make only
   one change, i.e., When I have to login to the course, there comes a login form
   which was not aligned in a row horizontally, so I changed (float:none) with css
   and got the result. I was also able to change the size of the images while searching
   your forum.
 * May be, now, its helpful to you to understand my problem.
    3. Also please tell
   me how can I attach a screenshot.
 * Many Thanks,
    Best Regards.

 * Hey there Gitika Salh,
 * How are you doing today?
 * 1. I’ve already have similar question for this [here](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/several-issues-in-courspress?replies=17#post-7123054)
   but as this is on another theme I’d have to take a look at those pages in order
   to provide CSS for it. If you have registration for a free course I’d be more
   then happy to try to register for a course in order to see it if you could post
   link to your site.
 * 2. Same as in for question 1, once I can see your site I’ll be able to try to
   help with this one.
 * 3. You can use any of services such as [https://www.dropbox.com/](https://www.dropbox.com/)
   or [http://imgur.com/](http://imgur.com/) to upload your screenshot and then
   post it here.
 * Looking forward for your response 🙂
 * Cheers,
    Bojan

 * Hi Bojan,
 * First of all I want you to know that I know css and html. And if it will be possible
   to give the css stylesheet of the plugin – CoursePress. I saw the editor of the
   plugin but it was all php which I am unware of.
 * 1. I had already researched your forum before starting this thread and viewed
   this page and also applied the css codes which you gave but with no effect.
 * 2. You can click [here](http://wandstand.com/demo9/courses/) to view my problems.
   I have made a demo page on divi theme with sample courses. You can login and
   see. Your credentials are:
    _[ redacted, support is not offered via email, Skype,
   IM etc. only in the forums ]_
 * 3. I will write the page name and then my problem:
 * a)**Courses**: I want to get rid of the sidebar and the vertical grey line on
   the right side (I want to center the whole page).
    b)**Page opens when I click
   on the details of the course**: I want to remove the sidebar and that vertical
   grey line. I want to change the color of the grey dividers, their width and thickness,
   the enroll button color, shadow and hover effects. Change the color of any text.
   c)**My Courses**: I want to get rid of the vertical grey line on the left of
   the text. Change the dividers’ color and all and the margin between the text
   and the dividers and headings. And also give some space between the end of the
   container and footer. d)**My Profile**: Again, I want to get rid of the vertical
   grey line on the left and center the form. e)When I log out, then, when I click
   on Signup then it says “Registrations are not allowed”. I want students to register.
   f)When a new person comes on my site and he clicks on the course page and then
   he clicks on the details of the courses, then the same page refreshes. Obviously
   he has to first login. But at this point I want a login form pops up on the same
   screen. Can it be possible through any plugin?
 * I would be very grateful to you for your precious help…
 * Many Thanks in advance,
    Best Regards.

 * Hi [@gitika-salh](https://wordpress.org/support/users/gitika-salh/) I’ve deleted
   the login and password you’ve posted, _please do not post that in these forums
   again._
 * If you need support then please work with the volunteers here. But no one here
   should post that and this is what gets posted when someone ask for that login.
 * > I’ve deleted your offer to login to your user’s site. I’m am 100% sure you
   > mean well but please _never ask for credentials on these forums._
   > Now for the why: The internet is a wonderful place full of very nice people

   > the person who takes the keys is now responsible for the house FOREVER.
   > If something was to go wrong, then you the author may well legally become liable
   > for damages, which they would not normally have been as their software is provided

   > Please be aware that repeatedly asking for credentials will result in us asking
   > you to repeatedly stop before escalating up to the plugins team.
 * Bojan is one of the best support volunteers in these forums. 😉 But if you need
   that level of support then you need to looks elsewhere. It’s not appropriate
   to post userID and passwords even on a test site here. Please do not do that
   again.

 * Hi Jan Dembowski,
 * Yes absolutely, I understand well. I am sorry as I am very new to these forums.
 * But please tell me how can I give these credentials to Bojan so that he can view

 * Hey guys,
 * [@jan](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jan/) Dembowski thanks for the kind
   words and for your help as usual 🙂
 * [@gitika](https://wordpress.org/support/users/gitika/) Salh from the link to
   your site I can see that one of the courses you have there is free.
 * However, registration seems to be disabled on your site so if you want you could
   temporary allow registration so I can subscribe for one of your courses in order
   to see the course inner pages for CSS tweaks.
 * Please let me know if that is fine whit you 🙂
 * Cheers,
    Bojan

 * You really can’t and please do not expect that level of support here. If you
   do need that level of support then you may wish to consider the pro version of
   this plugin.
 * A little information can go a long way to letting others help you.
    1. What have you tried to accomplish this? What did you attempt that did not work
       the way you expected?
    2. What theme are you using?
    3. Do you have any other plugins activated?
    4. Can you modify the CSS of your site via a plugin or child theme? That can address
       the grey line.
 * If you need a greater level of support than is permitted here then perhaps you
   can consider other options away from these forums. There’s no harm in that but
   if you do seek support here them please set your expectations appropriately.

 * > Is there any personal message kind of a thing
 * There is no personal messages on this forum.
 * There is really no need for this, just go to Settings -> General and allow registration
   in the next 10 minutes and I’ll create subscriber account so I can access your
   inner course pages.
 * Best regards,
    Bojan

 * Hi, Jan Dembowski
 * Dear Bojan wanted the access to one of the free courses and I made a separate
   demo site and a sample course just to give an outlook what I wanted to change.
   I just gave a student login info by making Bojan a separate student.
 * 1. I picked up the class from inspect element and was able to make these changes–
   the size of the images, left margin from that vertical grey line, input box of
   the password of the login form. The things which did not change with css were–
   the margins between headings and dividers and text, the removal of the sidebar,
   the vertical grey line which is showing up on the left side on **My Courses**
   page.
 * 2. I am using Divi theme from the Elegant Themes (latest version)
 * 3. Just one plugin is activated – Elegant Themes Updater, to update the Divi
   theme.
 * 4.There is custom css option in Divi theme options where I am applying css codes.
 * (I had already pointed the first two points in my previous posts.)
 * I am not fully aware of the rules and regulations and I had no intentions to
   create any problem for you, I just wanted a little help in css which I could
   not find through inspect element.
 * Hope you get me right this time.
 * Thanks,
    Warm Regards.

 * Hi Bojan,
 * Please try again with what you tried for the first time by going on the Login
   page [here](http://wandstand.com/demo9/student-login/) and login there as a student.
 * Now you will be able to see the courses.
 * Please tell me if its fine with you, otherwise I will allow registrations and
   tell you.
 * Thanks,
    Best Regards.

 * Hi there,
 * Don’t take me wrong.
 * If you open a ticket at Elegant Themes forum, there is a little PM (personal
   message) written under the name of every member, which is used for sharing something
   which you don’t want everybody else to know for the security purposes. I just
   meant that kind of a message.
 * I very much respect the forum guidelines. I myself am very disciplined about
   the rules and regulations. Its just that I am new and I would be wrong at times
   only because of the lack of knowledge, which I hope will be gained through experience.
 * Thanks everybody for the support and help.
 * I hope, there’s no confusion now.
 * Many Thanks,
    Warm Regards.

 * I see your point, this is how most of companies do things for premium support(
   we have all kinds of different ways to make threads private on WPMU DEV forum),
   but you have to understand this is a free forum where members volunteer to help,
   people from WordPress.org forum are just making sure nobody gets mistreated by
   making everything transparent. Among all the great people who just want to help
   there will always be those who would abuse as Jan mentioned above. This is why
   contacting other members outside this forum/providing admin access is against
   the forum rules, please see more [here](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/find-css-for-coursepress-plugin/codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome?output_format=md).
 * > Its just that I am new and I would be wrong at times only because of the lack
   > of knowledge, which I hope will be gained through experience.
 * That’s really ok, and also why you were just warned and pointed in the right
   direction by the good mods. Read the rules from the link I gave you above and
   you’ll be fine 😛
 * With the above being said I’ve checked your site (without logging in as a subscriber
   as you didn’t allow registration) and the line is coming from one of the before
   elements in the main content container, please try adding the following CSS code:
 *     ```
       @media (min-width: 981px) {
       #main-content .container:before {
       background-color: inherit;
       }
       }

       .post-type-archive-course div#left-area {
           width: 100%;
       }

       .single-course div#left-area {
           width: 100%;
       }
       ```
 * This should fix the course single page and archive page. Please check it and
   let me know if this is what you’ve wanted.
 * If you need me to check course inner pages as well please:
 * 1. Check your site registration settings in Settings -> General
    2. Check course
   registration settings in CoursePress -> Course -> Edit -> Step 6 – Enrollment&
   Course Cost and make sure you set “Anyone” for “Who can Enroll in this course”
 * Hope this helps 🙂
 * Cheers,
    Bojan
 * Hi Bojan ,
 * Thanks so much for the supporting words and for the help.
    Everything worked
   out very well.
 * I was applying the same css except the [@media](https://wordpress.org/support/users/media/)
   rule. I didn’t understand why we have to use [@media](https://wordpress.org/support/users/media/)
   rule for this; if you can help?
 * And I will definitely go through the forum rules.
 * Thanks again for everything,
    Best Regards.
 * Hey again Gitika Salh,
 * There could be few things that could cause that, using media query doesn’t really
   make much difference, the problem was most likely in the specificity of the selector
   that you’ve used.
 * You can always make a test by using !important which should override it anyways
   to see if you’re targeting the right classes and once you do you can remove important(
   don’t use it unless you really have to).
 * Glad I could help and have a great day!
 * Cheers,
    Bojan
