 * I received a report from my hosting that there is higher traffic than normal
   on my website.
 * The traffic comes from the own site ip: 23472 hits the last 24 hours.
 * This is caused by a self-referring script. How can I locate this script what
is causing the issue and fix the problem?
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Ffinding-self-referring-script%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)
   to see the link]_

 * How do you know there’s a “self-referring script” without knowing the script
   in question?
 * If your host told you there’s a “self-referring script” ask them what this script
is. I don’t see how they can know there’s a “self-referring script” without knowing
   the actual script.
