# Fishy error message about plugin update

 * Although the plugin is updated to the latest version, I am seeing this error 
   message on the settings page: “For some permission reseaon we are not able to
   upgrade plugin, you can download zip from here.” (note the spelling of reason).
   
   Smells fishy to me…. is there a bug in the plugin or is it something else?

 * Thanks, I suspected as much. Though it is showing only on the redirection plugin
   settings page…. wonder what’s the deal.

 * I don’t know why that would be, but notifications from other plugins often appear
   in places they shouldn’t.

 * Do you have a Google sitemap generator on your site? That URL leads to a 404 
   so I can’t see whether it is legitimate or not.

 *  And I deactivated the same to check…. the error message disappeared.

 * Ok thanks, so it seems it’s coming from that plugin. It’s an odd message and 
   a strange way of doing an upgrade so it might be worth contacting the plugin 
   owner to check.
