I know this don’t help but the guys/gals over to Kadence Themes have really good support and themes.. I would just spend the money to upgrade.

yup I totally agree with your thoughts but need that question answered. Does “sticky header” mean the header is an fixed asset in the theme and when the page is scrolled the header stays fixed at the top of the page.
I will be buying the theme but before I do so I want to see what can be done with the free theme. Even recommended the theme to some others who are now using the free theme.
And yes the support is amazing even for the free version.

The premium theme has an option for a sticky header, and using the basic header you can enable that for mobile. Unfortunately this isn’t an option with the free version of the theme.

So if you have the header set to basic with sticky then you would see the mobile sticky options. If your using a different header style then basic it’s a little more sticky but certainly possible. Post over on the premium support forms with a link to your site and I can help you with the change.
