# Fixing Pingback Bug

 * Hi, all,
 * I recently fixed a pretty minor bug with respect to slash insertion/stripping
   in the link edit window. I’m going to try and take a shot at a much more sinister
   issue I’ve seen with ping backs that I [submitted a couple of weeks back](http://mosquito.wordpress.org/view.php?id=806).
 * My problem is that I don’t have very much experience debugging PHP issues. Can
   someone offer some suggestions on where to start? Obviously something akin to
   a debugger would be optimal, but given that this may not be possible I’d love
   some suggestions on how to insert output statements so I can tell what’s going
   on during execution. These two techniques, tried and true in the other languages
   I use, seem not to work in PHP.
