# fluid width code for images

 * I have an image on the front of my blog that is 650 pixels wide and it doesn’t
   present a problem for (my resolution is 1440×900) but for people with 1024×768
   or lower, the image goes into the right sidebar. I already have a three column
   theme that is fluid width (the sidebars are a set width, the middle column is
   fluid). Is there a way to get images to be fluid? The image I am talking about
   is the Fireproof banner.

 * Some of the major reason we use a “design” is to give consistancy and readility
   to a project. Most of the rules for designing in print should also apply to the
   web.
 * Fluid columns are fine but how big do you want to go? What is the next banner
   is 1000px instead of 710px? It is not just a resolution problem. Some folks have
   several windows open and may prefer your site smaller.
 * I would decide on a max size and min size for the fluid column. Then I would 
   resize any banner, or utube film that threatened my design.
 * Issues: photo under God Sent Us a Savior is forcing your column to add 150+ pixels
   in width; your copyright block is 250+ pixels to wide. All this is adding 400
   pixels of width to your site. Fix these 2 issues and the center column will be
   back to a true fluid width.
