# Folder Dates

 * Since a well known GDPR compliance plugin has been compromised I started to observe
   folder dates on the FTP server.
    It seems logical if you do an update or post
   an article that some of the files or folders change their date. But when doing
   nothing the folder wp-content constantly keeps changing the date. When I look
   inside none of the files or folders have that changed date. Is that normal or
   am I being too cautious? 😉

 * You may have plugins that create temporary files in or below wp-content (e.g.,
   cache, backups, etc.)

    Thanks for your reply. Sure, there are plugins but if you leave everything
   alone – is it still normal for the date to change? Plugins doesn’t upgrade themselves
   so there shouldn’t be any activity?

 * I know a couple of plugins that use their own directories for cache. Install 
   WordFence on your site and let it scan the site. Check the option that lets it
   compare themes and plugins to the WP.org repositories.
