One of my colleagues worked a little on a little update that fixed the problem with uploading the font so now you should be able to use that option too.
About cloud.typography, I personally have not tried it so I will need some information from you: is this font self-hosted (a file) or you can use it through the embed code?

The files are required to be uploaded to the server, but the fonto plugin will not allow me to designate a file location where the fonts are stored.

I wanted to give it a try to fonts from this platform but, as I could see, all the fonts need to be bought, nothing is free. In this case, I’m afraid that I cannot do any test and see what might be wrong.
