 * Latest & greatest WordPress and Polylang versions, with PHP 8.2.
 * The site runs two languages. Settings:
   – The language is set from content– Remove/
   language/ in pretty permalinks
 * I’ve checked all the options under the “Synchronization” menu. It has been working
   fine for years.
 * However, I’ve noticed a bug when using the WordPress Footnote option.
 * It works fine with the same theme and plugins on sites without Polylang.
 * With Polylang, it is buggy. When editing an article which has its other language
version too, the footnotes disappear during the article editing.
 * Eventually, I’ve noticed that the site “remembers” only the footnote version
that I wrote/changed/updated and saved/published last. Hence, I get the footnote
in one language on both articles (in both languages). Whichever one was last
   saved/updated.
 * Another problem is that the footnote link doesn’t work with the “wrong language”
   page version. For example:
 * If I edit the English page version and update/save the footnote:
   – That page
version will work fine.– Other language page version will have the footnote in
English, and the footnote link will not work.

 * Hello,
 * > I’ve checked all the options under the “Synchronization” menu
 * That’s likely the problem. I advise you to uncheck the custom fields synchronization.
Footnotes are a new WP feature which use custom fields under the hood.
