Forced to reinstall WordPress, now getting wierd errors

I got a lot of errors on my blog and figured I’d reinstall, so I deleted the database, all the files, and reinstalled. Now, I keep getting asked for connection information when trying to delete or install a plugin via the dashboard(and it’s not accepting the information, even though it’s right, I tested the FTP account), and everything on the dashboard that read an RSS feed now has this error: RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: name lookup timed out

Any help? I’ve reinstalled numerous times and I’m still getting these errors, I’m losing money now thanks to this.
