Just updated my Forever theme with the latest update. Now I have the following error messages at the top of my admin page:
Warning: include(/home/edithan9/public_html/wp-content/themes/forever/inc/updater.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/edithan9/public_html/wp-content/themes/forever/functions.php on line 652
Warning: include(): Failed opening ‘/home/edithan9/public_html/wp-content/themes/forever/inc/updater.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php55/pear’) in /home/edithan9/public_html/wp-content/themes/forever/functions.php on line 652

Here are the last 3 lines (#L650 to #L652) in function.php of the lastest version
https://themes.trac.ww.wp.xz.cn/browser/forever/1.2.3/functions.phpThose 3 lines should be removed.
If you know how to edit file on the server, just delete those 3 lines.
Thank you paulwpxp for responding! Unfortunately, I am completely new to this {and feeling really dumb}….I’m not sure how to edit the file on the server. Details for dummies?
Since you’ve never edited file online before, it’s better to not do it to the live site. Try asking your web host support, just ask them to help delete those 3 lines.
I suppose the warning messages only happens in the admin dashboard and not on the front. So we can just wait for the next update that have this fixed.
Yes, the error only appears to show up in the admin dashboard, the front of the website looks fine. Thanks for your suggestions!
I have been trying to access my media library and am not able to since the update. Also, not able to edit previous published posts.
Just wondering….I’ve been thinking about changing the theme lately anyway. Would there be any issues to just changing it now?
This error will get fixed soon.
I already posted this problem in Forever theme sub forum here
https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/forever-theme-version-123-error-messageOther users using Coraline theme (also a theme used at wp.COM) have this same problem too
https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/theme-update-isnt-working-w-422Those 3 problematic lines used to happen in Spun theme (also a theme used at wp.COM), and later removed

There should be no problem changing theme, unless the new theme you are changing to happens to have that same 3 lines of code in its function.
Sorry about this – we’ll get a fixed version uploaded soon and I’ll keep you posted here.
Thank you Kathryn!
You can also download the older (pre-glitch) version of Forever here if you want to revert:
Kathryn,
I downloaded the older version. How do I install it back onto my site??Version 1.2.4 of Forever has just been submitted to the .org directory. Once it’s approved and made live, it will be available in your site’s dashboard, or at the theme’s usual Download link here in the directory. In the meantime you can follow its progress here:

You can download it to your hard drive and then either upload it as a zip in Appearance > Themes, or unzip it and upload it to your site’s wp-content/themes folder via FTP.
